Climate Change & Governance

Kenya is headed to a transitional general election in 2022 and leaders are promoting different economic models. Climate change is a global crisis and Africa is estimated to be worse hit by 2030 if no action is taken by different stakeholders including the national and county governments.

This is the rationale for which KCL and The Standard Group seek to rally political leaders to address climate change and make sustainability commitments before the election. The initiative will evaluate the manifestos of political parties with a focus on sustainability and climate action.

This will be achieved through the county and presidential debates in partnership with the Media Council of Kenya and funding partners. KCIC Consulting will offer technical support in embedding sustainability practices on manifestos.
